Ayrton Senna (1960-1994) Birthday

#f1 #art
Today would have been Ayrton Senna's 51st birthday (Born 21st March 1960). The Brazilian took three World Champtionships with McLaren in 1988, 1990 and 1991 and had a record 65 pole positions.

His life ended tragically at the third race of the 1994 season at Imola.

Senna's helmet was Yellow (or fluorescent yellow, when his lotus was with the JPS Livery) with a Dark green stripe and a Navy blue stripe running from the visor across the helmet- a reference to the national colours of Brazil.

This wonderful painting by renown motoring and aviation artist Keith Woodcock is a tribute to this great racing driver.
