La Royale - Arch de Triomphe, Paris Poster C1930

Image
Wow! What a way to advertise your brand of headlights. They certainly knew how to get your attention in those days. Ummm... I know let's stick a huge headlight on top of the Arch de Triomphe and having it glaring out across Paris! Fantastic. This poster dates from sometime in the late 20's to early 30's and is in perfect condition, the colours are fabulous. It's a good size too at 120 x 80cm. If you want some great Art Deco advertising art for your wall then look no further!

"Night Vision" (Ferrari 512) by John Ketchell

Image
The 1970 Le Mans 24 hours is immortalized in the the Steve McQueen film "Le Mans". Much of the film footage was taken from this race. It rain heavily throughout the night, and it was the first time the traditional "Le Mans start", in which the drivers run across the track to enter their cars, was replaced by a variant in which the drivers already sat in their cars. Porsche won for the first time. "Night Vision" by John Ketchell shows the Ferrari 512S entered by N.A.R.T. in the Coda Lunga version for Sam Posey and Ronnie Bucknum charging through the heavy rain and darkness to eventually finish 4th overall and first of the 11 entered Ferrari 512S. Original: Acrylics on Canvas. 40" x 30" Limited Edition Prints also available.

Image
The 1948 12 Heures de Paris was a sports car race held at L'autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry, France on 12th September. 112 laps and 870 miles later Luigi Chinetti and Lord Selsdon emerged as victors driving a Ferrari 166 Spyder. Each competitor was awarded a competitors plaque. This example (below) was given to Henri Louveau who together with Robert Brunet finished second driving his Delage D6-3L (No. 14). The plaques featured wonderful Geo Ham artwork, had a polished bronze finish (not shown very well in the above scan) and were made from a casting by Marx, Paris.
